Design Connect Create (DCC)

Design-Connect-Create Physics Camp for Young Women (DCC) is a two-week long summer camp for high school girls. The Rice chapter is operated by the Rice Office of STEM Engagement and brings 30 young women every summer to Rice campus for a hands-on introduction to physics. Ming is the physics department faculty associate for DCC at Rice. She delivered a presentation on “what is physics” to the girls in summer 2019. She went into the program thinking she needed to be an inspiration; she came out realizing the inspiration was really these bright and creative fun-loving future ladies of STEM! We also had a blast playing with liquid nitrogen and superconductors!
