In this study, we unveil the mechanism of producing a flat electronic band at the Fermi level in a quantum material: geometric frustration in 3D pyrochlore lattice first produces a flat band, then orbital-selective electron correlations push it to the Fermi level due to band renormalization. The end result is non-Fermi liquid behavior in transport properties. Congrats to Jianwei for leading this work!
