In this paper, we provide the first experimental evidence that examines the nature of the magnetism in kagome systems. Specifically, combining high quality thin films grown by MBE and in-situ characterization by ARPES, we were able to follow the electronic structure through the high magnetic ordering temperature and gain a peek at the state immediately above the magnetically ordered phase. As a result we demonstrate evidence that the magnetism is closer to the local moment description than the itinerant magnetism often associated with the flat band of kagome systems.
